Firearm Pricing
Cryogenic processing improves accuracy and extends barrel
life by eliminating residual stress in steel and creating a tough, uniform
microstructure. As repeated firings heat the steel, residual stress causes
the barrel to warp unevenly. This reduces accuracy and results in poor
shot grouping. After cryogenic processing, the barrel’s uniform
microstructure dissipates heat more evenly and resists warping. The steel’s
tighter crystalline structure also makes cleaning easier.

Please note:
- Firearms must be disassembled by gunsmith. No springs
should be treated.
- Older O/U or SXS shotguns with soft solder should
not be cryo processed.
- Illegally modified firearms and firearms not bearing factory serial
numbers will be turned over to the ATF for investigation.
- Metal Science Services will not be responsible for warpage due to
unequal grinding or machining of the item.
- Metal Science Services reserves the right to refuse any item that
might have serious warpage or adverse reaction to treatment.
